About the Board

City Council re-established the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PAR) in 2025 with the purpose to partner with citizens to  provide guidance and advocacy for parks and recreation programs, facilities and services which respond to changing needs within our community, as well as making recommendations on the City’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan (PROS), capital, long-term goals and objectives for parks and recreation activities and advise the City on other matters relating to parks and recreation as requested by the City Council or referred to the board by the City. PAR shall serve as an advisory body only.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board shall consist of seven (7) - nine (9) voting members representing the various community sectors (i.e.: parks, recreation, youth sports, education, business, and philanthropy). Each Youth Sports Association can have only one member to represent them on the Board.

Please direct all questions, comments, and/or concerns to Kelly Penewitt, Parks and Recreation Manager.
